     Ruth Bessinger Boatwright, 89, widow of Ezekiel Owen “Zeke” Boatwright, Jr., died Thursday, January 16, 2014, in McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.
    Mrs. Boatwright was born June 28, 1924, in Bamberg, SC, a daughter of the late Charles LeRoy and Inez Hightower Bessinger. She was retired from Drucker Drugs in Kingstree and was a member of Kingstree United Methodist Church. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Boatwright was preceded in death by 2 brothers, LeRoy Bessinger and James Bessinger, and 3 sisters, Thelma Harrison, Mildred Hajeck, and Mamie Bass.
    Surviving are: her son, Ashley (Annette) Boatwright, of Manning; her daughter, Dr. Martha (Jesse) Boone, of Roswell, GA; 4 grandchildren, Breanne Boatwright and Eric Stephen, both of Manning and Jenna and Sarah Boone, both of Roswell, GA; 2 sisters, Betty Bourne, of West Columbia and Demaris Bessinger, of Bamberg; and dear friends, Sue Atkinson and Jamie Suter.
     Funeral services will be 2 PM Sunday, January 19, 2014, in the chapel of Williamsburg Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM just prior to the service. The burial will be at 4 PM Sunday in Elmwood Cemetery in Georgetown. Memorials may be made to the Free Will Baptist Home for Children, PO Box 229, Turbeville, SC 29162
