She was married 51 years to the late Charlie Walker, who affectionately called her “Ole Scrap Iron.” She was a graduate of Kingstree High School, and went on to graduate Cosmetology School. She has also been a member of the Pilot Club. She enjoyed cooking, planting a garden and above all her beautiful grandchildren.

She was beloved by many friends, and dozens of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Peggy lived a simple, yet extraordinary life, and touched the lives of countless people with a gentle, kind spirit that never sought or desired recognition.

The family would like to acknowledge and give a huge thank you to Dr. Troy Gamble and Dr. Dorn Smith. No one gave more care, love, and compassion than these two men. Again, thank you.

Through the years, Charlie made her the brunt of many of his “jokes”. Most evolved around her cooking, especially her biscuits. We are sure that the Good Master allowed her to bake manna biscuits when she arrived, then made Charlie sit down and eat.
