Amanda Matter Taylor, 62, wife of John C. “J.C.” Taylor, died Monday, April 27, 2020, at her residence.

     Mrs. Taylor was born May 5, 1957, in Georgetown, a daughter of the late Merril Jonathan and Emma Lou Baxley Matter. She was a graduate of University of South Carolina Coastal and received a degree in Psychology and a certificate in Accounting. Amanda was a member of Spring Gulley Baptist Church, American Legion Auxiliary Post 69 in Andrews, and a Girl Scout troop leader in Andrews. She enjoyed quilting and baking.

     Surviving in addition to her husband J.C. are: her daughter, Emily Taylor, of Andrews; sisters, Kathy (Johnny) Blake, of Andrews and Marilyn (David) Lambert, of Effingham; 6 stepchildren; 8 grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews who held a special place in her heart. Amanda was preceded in death by a brother Tommy Matter; and a sister, Sandra Evans.

    Just learned of Amanda’s passing . She was a good friend/classmate of mine back in elementary school. I remember a fun pajama party at her house. My heartfelt condolences.
