Arthur Elmore “Junior” Martin  peacefully passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2020. He was born on December 2, 1926, in Florence County, the son of the late Arthur Eppie and Marie Collins Martin. Arthur graduated from Kingstree High School and was a faithful and active member as long as he was able of Kingstree First Baptist Church. He served his country in the US Navy during WWII in the Pacific on the destroyer USS Perry from 1944 to 1946. After the war, he retired from CSX Railroad after 44 years of  dedicated service.

    In his later years, his greatest joys were reading, gardening, yard work, and fishing with his son and friends. He also loved spending time with family, especially his two grandchildren and watched  them play sports and other activities.

     Surviving are his beloved wife, Patsy, of 64 years; his son, Glenn Gordon (Jennifer) Martin of Garner, NC; his daughter, Denni Claire Martin (Greg) Jung of Charlotte, NC; two granddaughters, Laura Terri Jung and Grace Elizabeth Jung. In addition to his parents, Mr. Junior was preceded in death by his daughter Terri Marie Martin and three half brothers, Tally, Oliver, and Rufus Martin. Mr. Martin’s family wishes to thank the staff of Amedisys Hospice for their loving care.
