Barry Lavern McCutcheon, 68, husband of Maurice Parrott McCutcheon, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Sunday morning, May 17, 2026.
Born in Florence, SC, on August 6, 1957, he was the son of the late Virginia Ann Smith and Marvin Lavern McCutcheon. He was a graduate of Williamsburg Academy and attended the Church of God. Barry was an avid sports enthusiast, and when he was not cheering on the Gamecocks, taking his boat out on the water or golfing with friends, you could find him umpiring girls softball games. He most loved spending time with his family, laughing, talking, joking, and playing pranks on just about anyone.
In addition to his wife, Maurice, Barry is survived by: children, April McCutcheon (Carrie Jordan), of Florence, SC, Andy McCutcheon (Sierra), of Longs, SC; grandchildren, Sara Floyd, Anna Grace Floyd, Layla Wilson, Kennedy McCutcheon; sisters, Carolyn Grayson, of Kingstree, Shelby “Shell” McClam (Mac), of Kingstree, Cathy Thompson (Randall), of Coward, Virginia “Ginny” Johns, of Crossville, TN; nieces, Christina Sims (Adrian), Betsy “Betc” Grier Copeland; nephews, Bart Grayson (Carrie), Adam McClam (Mary), Josh McClam (Skyelar); a great niece and nephew, Lauren and Ethan Sims; a sister-in-law, Susan Turner, of Scranton, SC; and many other nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Barry was preceded in death by, a grandson, Hunter Floyd.

To the family of Barry Mccutcheon I give you my condolence, but I was known Barry for over 40 years. We work together at jarrett’s wholesale company. Barry was a kind and loving person. He will give you his last if you need it. I’m gonna miss Barry but he’s not having any pain or suffering. He is with the Lord now..
