Graveside services will be held at Kingstree Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at 11 AM.

Visitation

The family will receive friends following the service in Grace Hall at Williamsburg Presbyterian Church.

Carolyne Brown Geddings Joye, 82, wife of Thomas DeWitt Joye, passed away peacefully in her sleep Monday morning, November 14, 2022, after an extended illness.

Born in Gourdin, SC, on January 21, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Carolyne Elizabeth Brown and James Ivey Geddings. Brownie was a Kingstree High School graduate, Class of 1958. Over her career, she was associated with the Exchange Bank of Kingstree and Williamsburg First National Bank. In her private life she enjoyed cooking and baking, reading, knitting, sewing, and shopping. She especially enjoyed the beach.

Brownie is survived by her devoted husband Tommy of 64 years, her son, Thomas DeWitt Joye, Jr. (Joanie) of Kingstree, SC, and her daughter, Carolyne Joye Bradford (Robert) of Tallahassee, FL. She was lovingly called Brownie by her grandchildren, Elise Bradford Thomas (Joe), William Bennett Bradford, and Sarah Rutledge Bradford. She was so pleased to have two great grandchildren, Bailey and R.J. Tucker. She is also survived by a sister, Cornelia Bell (David) and two brothers, James Geddings (Catherine) and William Geddings.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, William Bennett Joye and James Ernest Joye.

Graveside services will be held at Kingstree Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at 11 AM. The family will receive friends following the service in Grace Hall at Williamsburg Presbyterian Church. Memorials may be made to Williamsburg Presbyterian Church, 411 N.
