Charles Francis Worsley, Jr., 90, husband of Cynthia Cooper Worsley, died Saturday, August 15, 2026, at McLeod Hospice House in Florence, SC.
Charles was born February 3, 1936, in Earlville, Illinois, the son of the late Charles Francis Worsley and Ruth Anderson Worsley. He received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Washington University and had a long career with International Harvester followed by several years working with Imperial Marble Company. Charles loved working with all things mechanical. He acquired a private pilots license and built his own airplane. He enjoyed rebuilding hot rods and in his later years woodworking and reading. Charles was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed the games of all teams. He was a proud veteran of the US National Guard.
In addition to Cynthia, his wife of 46 years, Charles is survived by: 2 sons, John Charles (Mavis) Worsley of Virginia and Douglas Steven (Mary Jane) Worsley of Illinois; 3 stepchildren, Amy Lynn (Greg) Richards of Kingstree, SC, Doug (Betsy) Spies of Nashville, TN, and Brian (Tracy) Spies of Kingstree, SC; and 12 grandchildren.
