     Christopher Lee Ward, 29, died in an accident in Kingstree on Sunday, March 13, 2022.  

      Mr. Ward was born in Charlotte, NC, a son of Elizabeth Ann Stanley and the late James Edward Thaxton II.  He was adopted by Raymond Otis Ward, Jr. and Nell Mouzon Ward. He graduated from high school and was employed in tree removal.

       Surviving Mr. Ward, in addition to his biological mother of Kingstree and his adoptive parents of Kingstree, are: a daughter, Madison Lee Ward; the mother of his daughter, Carrie Lee Tisdale; brothers, Jamie (Amanda) Nexsen of Kingstree, Ryan Otis Ward of Kingstree, James Thaxton, III, Travis Thaxton, and Joseph Powell; sisters, Rhonda “Boz” Boswell and April Thaxton; sister-in-law, Summer Ard; and nephew, Russell Donavan Guy. Christopher was preceded in death by his biological father, a brother, Michael Ard, an uncle Randal Alan Guy, and a niece, Mary Elizabeth Guy.

     A memorial service will be held in Sandy Bay Pentecostal Holiness Church on a date to be announced.
