Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Monday, October 5, 2026, at Williamsburg Baptist Church, 8378 Hemingway Highway, Kingstree, SC 29556.

Davis LeGrand Rodgers, 79, died Friday, October 2, 2026, at MUSC Health Florence Medical Center.
LeGrand was born February 16, 1947, in Kingstree, SC, a son of the late Fred LeGrand Rodgers, Jr. and Mary Isabella Evans Rodgers. He graduated from Kingstree High School and Columbia Commercial College. After more than 33 years of service, he retired from Santee Electric Cooperative. Legrand was a member of Williamsburg Baptist Church. An avid outdoorsman, LeGrand enjoyed hunting, fishing, and growing tomatoes, blueberries, and other produce. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him immense joy, and he adored each of them. The Christmas barbecue was one of his greatest joys, especially because it allowed him to pass down the family recipe and traditions. He loved spending hours on his porch and riding his ATV around the farm. Above all, he cherished his family and was always willing to help others. He enjoyed Clemson football and the Atlanta Braves, but his favorite television programs were classic Westerns. The family pond – that was his special place. Even in his final days, he made a trip down that dirt road to sit by the pond every day. The oldest of four, he had to grieve the loss of two siblings, and his parents. He never asked for much, he liked the simple life and the joys of his family.
LeGrand is survived by: his children, Davis LeGrand “Dave” Rodgers, Jr and Melissa Rodgers Ward ,both of Kingstree and Margaret Ann “Maggie” Rodgers (Terry) Coffey of Waynesboro, GA; grandchildren, Josh (Mary Gray) Rodgers of Florence, Abby (Corey) Knotts of Coward, Justin (Myla) Ward of Holly Springs, NC, Katie Ward of Lake City, Victoria (Matthew) McCollough of Florence, and John Wyatt Hanniford (Kayla McKenzie) of Kingstree; great grandchildren, Austin, Lee, Millie, Jackson and Arkam Ward; sister, Julie (Jesse) Burnett of York, SC, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, LeGrand was preceded in death by his brother, Emory Dale Rodgers, his sister, Betty Jo Rodgers Duke, and his daughter-in-law, Tami Rodgers.
