Mrs. Dorothy Anderson Brown, 83, wife of George Bruce Brown, passed away peacefully at her home in Kingstree, SC on Saturday, May 9, 2026.
Born on October 19, 1942, the daughter of the late Fred and Lula Anderson of Coward, SC. She was a graduate of J.C. Lynch School. During her time there she enjoyed playing on the basketball team and loved J.C. Lynch. She was a member of St. Paul Church of Coward, SC.
In addition to her husband Bruce of 64 years, Dorothy is survived by: two sons, Gilbert Brown, of Jacksonville, FL, Bill Brown (LeeAnn), of Turbeville; a sister, Judy Lewis (Al), of Florence, SC; a granddaughter, Crystal Newton (Sam), of Lake City; and two great grandchildren, Hayden Newton and Braylen Newton.

I am so sorry to hear about Dot passing. She was a great neighbor when they lived here in Coward . I know her family will miss her dearly. Love and prayers from Tom and Beverly McClam and my mom Lazette Morris.

Mrs. Dot was always so sweet. She looked out for Bill and I growing up. She will be missed. Mr. Bruce and the whole family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Dorothy was such a special person. Enjoyed playing basketball with her. She was always so glad to see me when our patches crossed. Rest in peace my dear friend. May the Lord hold each of your family members in his loving arms and give them peace.
