Funeral Services

         Funeral services will be held at 2:30PM Thursday, January 31, 2019 in Kingstree First Baptist Church, with a burial in Kingstree Memorial Gardens.

Visitation

The family will receive friends 1 hour prior the service from 1:30 to 2:15 in the Family Life Center.

Mrs. Elizabeth Edwards Stanley, 90, widow of Richard L. Stanley, died Sunday, January 27, 2019 at McLeod Regional Medical Center.

    Mrs. Stanley was born June 23, 1928, in Conway, SC, a daughter of the late William Graddy Edwards and Marie Ryan Edwards. She was a graduate from Conway High School. Mrs. Stanley was the former owner and bookkeeper of Kingstree Red and White. She was President of Kingstree Pilot Club and a member of Kingstree First Baptist Church, Rainbow Sunday School Class, GA’s Leader and taught Bible School. Mrs. Stanley loved to fish and enjoyed being with her grandchildren.

     Surviving Mrs. Stanley, are her daughter, Linda (Hilton) McGill, of Kingstree; grandchildren, Frank McGill, of Greenville, Meg M. (Greg) Beatson, of Kingstree, and Stan (Logan) McGill, of Florence, 6 great grandchildren, Emma Ryan Gordon, Hilton McGill, Gracie McGill, May McGill, Carter McGill, and Davis McGill; siblings, Jim (Maxine) Edwards, of Pinopolis; Louise Edwards, Ann (C.W.) Smith, and Lewis (Jeannie) Edwards; sister-in-law, Esther Edwards, all of Conway.

In addition to her husband, R.L. Stanley, Mrs. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her brothers, Eugene Edwards, and Billy Edwards; a sister, Rebecca Chestnut, and an infant daughter.

    I remember spending some good times with you, Hilton and your parents long ago. What a fine family!
    We were all so young. I am so sorry that time has caught up with us. But, it’s God’s will that we all try to do the best we can during our time in this age. Your mother is an example of time well spent.
