In addition to her husband and parents, Kathleen was predeceased by her first son, Willard Dye “Dee” Evans, Jr.; her sister, Helen Reid Barker Kellahan; and five brothers, Pitman Warwick Barker, John Alexander Barker, Ernest Knox Barker, Horace Russell Barker, and Prentice Reid Barker, Jr.

Kathleen grew up in Lumberton, NC on a tobacco and dairy farm and was an avid horsewoman. Following her graduation from Lumberton High School, she attended Coker College, SC. She served as the treasurer for the Women in the Church for 30 years.

Kathleen shared her musical talent by playing piano for the early service at Bethel Presbyterian Church for 6 years. She greatly enjoyed time with family, cross stitching, playing bridge with friends, and wonderful excursions to the beach.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all in the community who reached out in various ways. Special thanks are offered to Delores McFadden, Suzanne Arnau, Dana
