James Samuel Eagerton, 82, died Friday, January 22, 2021, in Williamsburg Regional Hospital in Kingstree.

Mr. Eagerton was born June 11, 1938, in Lane, SC, the son of the late George Gresham Eagerton and Blanche Oliver Eagerton. He was a graduate of Kingstree High School and a veteran of the National Guard. Mr. Eagerton retired from Albany Felt in St. Stephen and was a farmer.

Surviving Mr. Eagerton is his sister, Edwena Eagerton Crosby, of Martinez, GA.; a nephew, Scott Hunnicut of Jacksonville, FL, and a niece, Dee Kirby Ellis, of Macclenny, FL.

Services will be private.

    Samuel was a good friend of mine. I would help him around his house with his farm animals. Many trips to the farm to help him feed the pigs. He taught me a lot growing up. RIP friend.

    Sorry to hear of Sam’s passing. He retired a few years after I started Albany. My father Bubba Morris sends his condolences also. They worked many years together at Albany.
