Funeral Services

      A service of worship and thanksgiving, conducted by Rev. Zach Simmons and Rev. Robert Jolly, will be held at 3 PM Sunday, June 4, 2023, at Kingstree Presbyterian Church.

Visitation

Visitation  will be one hour before the service in the church fellowship hall.

Jeanette Thomas Dodd, 88, wife of Rev. John R. Dodd, died Wednesday, May 31, 2023, in Manning, SC.

      Mrs. Dodd was born August 15, 1934, in Charleston, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Dewey Thomas and Emma Campbell Thomas. She served the Lord through her love of music. Through their serving God in Presbyterian churches, one in Charleston, West Virginia and four in South Carolina which are Hopewell Presbyterian Church in Rock Hill; Kingstree Presbyterian Church and Central Presbyterian Church in Kingstree, and Sardinia Presbyterian Church in New Zion. Jeanette was involved in every church either as a choir member, organist, or choir director as well as a soloist.

     Seven of Rev. Dodd’s grandchildren all lovingly call her grandma, and she cherished each one of them: Cassidy Paino, Daniel Dodd, Thomas Kyle, Christopher Kyle, Desiree Kyle, Jonathan Kyle, and Hannah Kyle.

     Her beautiful smile would light up a room along with her expressions of love for all she came in contact with. She was also very active in the Women in the Church and Garden Makers Garden Club.

    I was saddened to hear of Mrs.
    Jeanette’s passing. She was a precious soul. Her smile and love for people was tremendous. Always enjoyed visiting with Rev.
    And Mrs. Dodd when they came for Dr. appts. She will be missed by all who knew her. May God grant you and your family peace

    I have so many warm memories of Mrs Jeanette. I loved her so much! She was a wonderful lady and I know everyone is missing her! In addition to her many musical talents, she used to pet-sit my little chihuahua, Brittain! Brittain knew she had found a friend!
