Judith “Judy” Lee Jones McCutchen, 88, wife of the late Rhodas Rutledge McCutchen, died Monday, September 14, 2026, at Embrace Hospice in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Judy was born May 1, 1938, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late John Richard Jones and Anna Lee Strong Jones. She was a graduate of Greeleyville High School and retired from Santee Electric Cooperative after more than 30 years of service. Judy was a faithful member of Beulah United Methodist Church until it closed. She served as treasurer there for many years. Judy found great joy in the beauty of God’s creation, finding closeness to Him while tending to her yard and nurturing the beauty around her. She also enjoyed cooking delicious meals for her family.
Judy is survived by her daughter, Donna Marie McCutchen of Garden City, her sister, Jean “Dot” Doherty of Charleston, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband Rhodas, Judy was preceded in death by her sisters, Louise Schartel, Annette Pinson, Patsy Caulder, and Linda Hupp.
