     Funeral services will be held 2 PM Friday, January 20, 2023, at Kingstree First Free Will Baptist Church, with burial in Sandy Bay Cemetery

. Judy’s family will greet friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at Williamsburg Funeral Home

Judy Ann Matthews Miles, 77, wife of the late Mervin Lavern Miles, died Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at MUSC in Charleston, SC.

     Mrs. Miles was born September 17, 1945, in Florence County, SC, a daughter of the late Joe and Grace Hancock Matthews. She was a graduate of Florence County schools and retired from Baxter Labs in Kingstree. Judy was a member of Kingstree First Free Will Baptist Church. She loved fishing, gardening, her dogs, and hosting the flea market in Kingstree, where she enjoyed meeting and visiting with everyone.

     Surviving Mrs. Miles are: 2 sons, David L. “Peanut” Miles and Greg “Chubby” (Cindy) Miles both of Kingstree, SC; a daughter, Charlene (Tony) McCrea of Kingstree; daughter-in-law, Annette Miles of Cades; 5 grandchildren, Cody Miles, Dusty (Casey) McCrea, Gregory Miles, Ann (Matt) Worrell, and Matthew Miles; 7 great grandchildren, Rylee and Reed McCrea, Hunter, Allie, and Bailey Miles, and Alexis and Haylee Worrell; and a sister, Joyce Le Brun of Lake City, SC. In addition to her husband Mervin and her parents, Judy was preceded in death by a son, Terry Miles, sister, Elizabeth Haselden, and brothers, Buster, Joe and Billy Matthews.

    Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time of sorrow. Judy is gonna be missed because she could light up any room and she knew just what to do to make you laugh.     Growing up, JudyandJoyce was one word. We were so close in age most people thought there was only one of us or that we were twins. I miss her so much already. We would laugh about things that only we understood. She had a terrific sense of humor and was almost always laughing. She loved her children and her family.
