Judy Stephenson Tisdale, 84, wife of the late Samuel “Clinton” Tisdale, passed away peacefully at McLeod Hospice House in Florence, SC.
Judy was born March 19, 1942, in Raleigh, NC, the daughter of the late George Stephenson and Margie Moore Stephenson. A proud graduate of Harbarger Business College, Judy dedicated her career to serving her community. After early years working at Williamsburg Regional Hospital, she found her true calling at Williamsburg Presbyterian Kindergarten, where she lovingly taught her four-year-olds for thirty years. She and her dear friend and business partner who were affectionately known as “The Judys” nurtured generations of young minds, often welcoming the children and grandchildren of their former students. Beyond the classroom, Judy lived life to the fullest: she was a vibrant fixture in several local bridge clubs, playing at least twice a week, and cherished every opportunity to hunt for treasures with friends or explore the world with her daughter, Lisa.
Judy is survived by: her daughter, Lisa Tisdale of Braga, Portugal; son-in-law, Karlos (Rhonda) Stone of Johnsonville; grandchildren, Drake (Vandi) Stone of Johnsonville and Kelli Stone of Johnsonville; great grandchildren, Brooks, Elli-Anna, and Clinton Stone; and special cousin, Ann Stone Swain of Greensboro, NC. In addition to her parents and her husband Clinton, Judy was preceded in death by her daughter, Marcie Tisdale Stone and her brother, Albert Stephenson.
