Funeral Services

Funeral services will be held 2 PM Friday, January 27, 2023, at Williamsburg Funeral Home, with burial in Union Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Visitation

The Holy Rosary will be prayed at 5:30 Thursday afternoon at the funeral home  with a visitation to follow from 6 to 8 PM.

Memorials

Memorials may be made to St. Ann Catholic Church, 107 Hirsch Street, Kingstree, SC 29556 or a charity of one’s choice.

Lola Ann Driggers White, 83, wife of the late Frederick J. White, died Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at MUSC Health Florence.

Mrs. White was born April 22, 1939, in Williamsburg County, SC, a daughter of the late Albert Bright Driggers and Mary Lee Blakely Driggers. She was a graduate of Williamsburg High School and received a bachelor’s degree from Coker College and a master’s degree and special education certification from Francis Marion College. Mrs. White taught English and History and coached basketball in Andrews, Florence, England, St. Stephen, and Kingstree. She was a member of the Pilot Club, Director of Williamsburg County Parents Anonymous, volunteered with the Felician Sisters’ outreach and tutoring programs and still found time to enjoy gardening, reading, and puzzle books. “Miss Lola” was an NFL and a Gamecocks fan and she loved Black River and especially spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church.

Surviving Mrs. White are: daughters, Donna Patterson of Kingstree, SC and Leslie (Steve) Smith of Oak Ridge, TN; grandchildren, Marie (Mark) Disher and David (Laura) Patterson, both of Kingstree, SC, and  Faith, Chloe, Sophie, and Stephanie Smith, all of Oak Ridge, TN; great grandchildren, Mackenzie and Henry Bryan, Christopher Patterson, and soon to be born, Marissa Patterson, all of Kingstree, SC; sister, Betty D. Donnelly of Andrews; four nieces who were like daughters, Theresa, Dawn, Emilee, and Brandi; and two nephews.

In addition to her parents and her second husband Fred, Lola was preceded in death by her first husband, David A. Winchester, a son, Ron Q. White, 2 brothers, A.B. Driggers and Robert Driggers, and a very special son-in-law, Chris Patterson.

    My warmest condolences to all of the family. I met “Aunt Lola” almost 40 years ago when I was only 9. Leslie being my best friend. Lola always made me feel very welcome in her home!
