     Graveside funeral services, conducted by Pastor Jay Johnson, will be 11 AM, Friday, July 15, 2022, at Tisdale Cemetery.

Visitation

Mary Winn’s family will greet friends 5 to 7 PM Thursday at Williamsburg Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Maggie and Philip Harper.

     Mary Winifred Ward McCrea, 71, wife of Daniel O’neal McCrea, died Monday night, July 11, 2022, at Williamsburg Regional Hospital.

     Mrs. McCrea was born July 1, 1951, in Kingstree, a daughter of the late R. Franklin Ward and Naomi Phillips Ward. She was a graduate of Kingstree High School and was a longtime employee of Williamsburg First National Bank. Mary Winn was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher, past president of WMU and Bible School Director. She served on the board for Tisdale Cemetery for many years and was dedicated to assisting families with a final resting place for their loved ones. She shared her love with many friends, but her family was her world. She loved her role as wife, mother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, and was most proud to be the best mother-in-law and “Mimi”.

     Surviving Mrs. McCrea, in addition to her husband of 54 years, Danny, are: two daughters, Winifred “Wendy” McCrea (Donald) Sims and Margaret “Maggie” McCrea (Philip) Harper, both of Kingstree; six grandchildren, Aaron Danielle (Dexter Bryant) McKnight, Megan Sims (Warren) Anderson, Caleb Thomas Harper, Emma Catherine Harper, Carson Franklin Sims, and Benjamin Luke Harper; four great grandchildren, Mattie Elaine McKnight, Gracie Jean McKnight, Colton Daniel Bryant, and Derry Frances Anderson; one brother, Phil (Tommie Ann) Ward; two sisters, Bea Ward Powell, and Ruth Anne Ward (Larry) Penn; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, Mary Winn was preceded in death by her daughter Naomi Louise “Luci” McCrea and her brother Lewis Ward

    So sorry to see this sad news. I got to know “Miss” Mary Winn when we worked together at Fair Deal Whse. She was fun to work with and made us laugh . . . . . even in the heat! You could tell how much her family meant to her. They were always in her conversations. I have enjoyed keeping up with her on Facebook. She had such interesting posts and keeping up with the twins was great. I know you will miss her but lean on the blessings she gave each of you. Hugs to each of you.
