A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 3 at 1 pm at The Kingstree Presbyterian Church, located on Hwy 527.
Visitation
The family will receive friends in the Church Fellowship Hall after the service.

Shirley Joye Burke, (90) wife of the late George E. Burke, Sr., died March 26, 2026 at her home in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Shirley was born in Williamsburg County on March 29, 1935, the daughter of the late Carl Wilbur Joye, Sr. and Maude Baker Joye. She graduated from Kingstree High School and Winthrop College; was Secretary at the USDA-Soil Conservation Service for 22 years; and was a charter member of the Kingstree Presbyterian Church.
Surviving Shirley are: a son, George E. (Ricky) Burke Jr and wife Jennie of Myrtle Beach, SC; daughter, Susan Burke Marsh (David) of Irmo, SC; grandchildren Rebecca Joye Eller (Caleb) of Hammonton, NJ; Paul Burke (Anna) of Charlotte, NC; Justin Marsh (Danielle) of Orlando, FL; Amy Marsh Bokelman (Jimmy) of Columbia, SC, Caitlin Marsh of Gilbert, SC, and Laura Marsh of Greenville, SC; great grandchildren: Keenan, Ronan, Beckham, and Luka Bokelman, and Landon, Sam, and Mia Eller. In addition to her husband George and her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Carl W. Joye, Jr.
A Memorial Service directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home of Kingstree will be held on Friday, April 3 at 1 pm at The Kingstree Presbyterian Church, located on Hwy 527. The family will receive friends in the Church Fellowship Hall after the service.
