Susan Burrows Holliday, 75, the wife of the late James “Jimmy” Whatley Holliday, passed away peacefully on October 06, 2026, at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet.
Born in Kingstree, S.C. on March 9. 1951, Susan was a daughter of the late C. Otis Burrows and Grace C. Burrows. She was a longtime member of Union Presbyterian Church in Salters and joined Kingstree First Baptist Church when she and Jimmy married. She was a 1969 graduate of Kingstree High School and graduated from Coker College with a bachelor’s degree in special education. Mrs. Holliday retired from the Williamsburg County School System after 37 years of teaching. She loved spending time on the beach and with her grandchildren.
She is survived by: her daughter, Alicia Holliday Callahan of North Myrtle Beach;
two grandchildren, Clark and Farrah Callahan of North Myrtle Beach; her sister, Linda Burrows Lund of Anderson; a niece, Christina Lund Davis (Micheal) of Seneca; a nephew, Carl McHenry Lund III (Julie) of Alabama; and great nieces and nephews, Caroline Lund Caldwell of Charleston, Carl McHenry Lund IV of Charlotte, Catie Lund of Alabama, Grayson Davis of Clemson, and Camden Davis of Seneca.
A graveside service will be held 1 PM, Monday, October 12, 2026, at Kingstree Memorial Gardens, 11095 Hemingway Highway, Kingstree, SC 29556.
