The Rev. Valerie Knight Jackson Ward passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on November 17, 2018 following a lengthy illness with Stage IV Lung Cancer and COPD. She was born April 18, 1949 in Ft. Sam Houston, TX. She is survived by her son Adam C. Ward and his wife Alison C Ward and their children Elizabeth N. and Christopher C. Stephens, Jr. of Lamar, SC.
Deacon Ward was preceded in death by her Mom Phyllis K. Jackson, her Dad Peter Jackson, and her two brothers Keith M and Peter W. Jackson.
Deacon Ward worked for the Department of Defense in the Air Force Child and Youth Programs from July 1980 until her retirement in February 2016. She worked in Texas, Turkey, England, and California.
Deacon Ward was active in the Episcopal Church her entire life. She attended seminary at Bloy House, Claremont, CA, and was ordained a Deacon in the Episcopal Church in January 2014.
Deacon Ward moved to South Carolina in January 2018 in order to live closer to her son and his family.

So very sorry to hear about your loss. My condolence to families. It will be so wonderful when death is no more. Rev.21:3,4. And see them again on Earth in the future. Acts 24:15; Psalms 37: 11, 29 . What a comfort to know that God does not cause death at this time. Ecclesiastes 9:11.
