Funeral services celebrating Delma’s life will be held at 2:30PM on Sunday, July 29, 2018 in Williamsburg Funeral Home Chapel with a burial in Smith Cemetery.

Visitation

The family will receive friends at 1 PM before the service at Williamsburg Funeral Home.

Vernice Delma “Dell” Smith Brown, 97, widow of Wilson Brown, died Sunday, July 22, 2018, at her residence in Columbia surrounded by her friends and family.

Mrs. Brown was born February 19, 1921, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late Boyd McKnight Smith and Daisy Evans Smith. Delma was raised on the Smith family farm in Williamsburg County. She was a military wife and traveled to many places including Pairs and Germany. Delma was loved by all who knew her and made friends everywhere she went. The most important thing to Delma was her friends and family.

Surviving Mrs. Brown is her son, William Brown, of High Point, NC; her sister, Ina Smith Miles, of Kingstree; and many nieces and nephews. In additions to her parents, Delma was preceded in death by two sons, Wilson Brown and Richard Brown, and two sisters, Lilly Hardin and Virginia McCutcheon, and three brothers Wesley, John and Garland Smith.
