A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at 4PM at Cedar Grove Baptist Church.
Visitation
Visitation will be held in the educational building following the service.

William Carroll Haddock passed away peacefully at his home on August 9, 2026 at the age of 82. Carroll was the son of the late Dargan Carroll Haddock and Thelma Brown Haddock. Carroll is survived by his wife of 60 years, Peggy King Haddock.
Carroll was born on November 6, 1943 in Kingstree, SC. He was a 1962 graduate of Kingstree High School. He was a lifelong member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was a member of the choir. Earlier in life, Carroll proudly served as a member of the Kingstree National Guard. He was also a board member for the Williamsburg County Farm Bureau and served as president from 1997-2000. He was a South Carolina Boll Weevil Eradication Foundation Board Member and a board member for the Tri County Cotton Gin. His dedication to agriculture and the high standards he brought to his work were recognized when he was honored as the Williamsburg County Farmer of the Year. He earned his private flying license and found great peace and enjoyment in flying. He was passionate about agriculture and farming was much more than a livelihood to him; it was a part of who he was. He gave his time, energy, and heart to farming and took immense pride in the land he cared for and was meticulous in everything he did, believing things should be done right and done well. Above all else, he found his greatest joy in his family and he cherished time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Peggy, his three children Lisa (Loyd C.) Morris, Rachael (Chance) Atkinson, and Tracey Haddock. Six grandchildren Caroline (Tyler) Brown, Loyd C. Morris III, Bailey (Hayes) Goodson, Dylan Atkinson, Hampton Beard, Mary Logan Atkinson and two great grandchildren Eloise Goodson and Wells Goodson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dargan and Thelma Haddock and his brothers, Richard and Henry Haddock.
The family would like to extend their most heartfelt appreciation to his truly godsent caregivers, Mina McGee and Vanessa Pettway and his hospice CNA Felicia McCullough. Their compassion and kindness will always be remembered with gratitude.

We were sadden to hear of Carroll’s passing. He will be missed by many. Prayers for the family whom he loved so much.
I am so very sorry to hear of Carroll’s passing. He was a true family friend and will be missed by many. May our Lord comfort his family during the difficult days to come. My thoughts and prayers are with each member of the family.
So sorry to hear about Carrol’s passing. I grew up in the Cedar Swamp community and have fond memories of Carroll, Richard and Henry. Rest easy knowing that he is with our Lord and not suffering anymore 🙏🙏🙏

I was so sorry to hear about Mr. Carroll’s passing. We’d just gone through that ourselves, in December, when we lost mama under similar circumstances. I want you all to know that Mr. Carroll was very dear to our family and will always hold a special place in our hearts. My greatest and most cherished memory of Mr. Carroll will forever be, the look of astonishment and joy on his face, when he and the men’s group from Cedar Grove Baptist Church sang for us at Broad Swamp PH during a good old fashion singing one Sunday afternoon. After their first song, my church family and all of the visitors present, gave them a standing ovation for a job well done. They were obviously nervous, but from that point on, it was clear to me and everyone in that sanctuary, that he and the rest of that men’s singing group (my daddy included), had just overcome and cleared that hurdle and was ready for their next engagement. They were such a blessing to us. We’re going to miss him dearly.
