William Francis Godwin, Jr., 66, husband of Kathy Baylor Godwin, passed away Monday, December 14, 2020 in McLeod Regional Medical Center of Florence.
Francis was born October 18, 1954, in Kingstree, SC, a son of the late William Francis “Bill” Godwin, Sr. and Leona Grantham Godwin. He was owner and operator of F & W Body Shop, also known as the Honda Man. Francis could often be found working on a car in his shop, at home, watching his favorite old tv shows and movies or out eating and spending time with his family and close friends. He was a member of Kingstree Second Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition of his wife Kathy are: a son, Timothy (Marla) Godwin, of Kingstree; a daughter, Katelyn Godwin, of Kingstree; a granddaughter, Katie Godwin; a sister, Vicky (Donnie) Witherspoon, of Kingstree; 2 nieces, Amy (Edward) Strong, of Andrews; and Emily (Dale) Tisdale, of Kingstree; 4 great nieces, Courtney Strong, Mary-Katherine Tisdale, Reagan Strong, and Whitney Tisdale; he was Poppy to 3 special children, Morgan Lane, Allie Baylor, and JT Baylor.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Willie and Victoria Godwin Greene and maternal grandparents, Anderson and Moneta Grantham.

Mary Frances Vause Kennedy, 86, passed December 14, 2020, at her home with her daughters by her side.
Ms. Kennedy was born September 8, 1934, in Kingstree, a daughter of the late Edward McPherson Vause and Lena Alma Haddock Vause. She was a graduate of Kingstree High School and Columbia College. While at Columbia College, she was a member of The Columbia College Choir, The Columbia College Choral Club, The Columbia College Sextet and a trio, The Blue Notes. She retired from the data processing department of Williamsburg Technical College after 27 years.
“Miss Mary Frances” was a true lover of her family, her hometown of Kingstree, good note writing, and of all things Southern – especially her sweet, iced tea.
In 1969 the Kingstree Chamber of Commerce presented Ms. Kennedy with the “Citizen of the Year” award for outstanding service rendered to Kingstree. As President of The Home and Garden Club they raised funding for landscaping for the Williamsburg County Memorial Hospital. She also served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Williamsburg Land Company. She was selected to appear in the 1971 edition of “Personalities of the South” for recognition of achievements and outstanding service to her local community and state and also in the 1973 edition of “The Word Who’s Who of Women”.
She was a lifetime member of Williamsburg Presbyterian Church.
A special thank you to those that lovingly cared for her at her home, Melissa Adams, Alexis Adams, Marie McFadden, Shirley Harvin, Ava Rogers, Deatrice Thomas and Evalena Brown.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ethel Lena Vause Thompson, and her two brothers, William M. “Will” Vause and Edward M. “Ed” Vause. Surviving are her daughters, Cheryl Kennedy Wrenn and Mary Lisa Kennedy (Hal) McGill of Kingstree and grandchildren Michael Erban Wrenn, Frances McGill (Edwin) Belser, Harold Kennedy McGill and Benton Thornwell McGill of Kingstree along with numerous nieces, nephews, and several great nieces.

Musetta Pandora Bowman Floyd, 81, widow of Lano Floyd, died Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at her home in Kingstree.
Mrs. Floyd was born November 8, 1939, in Burlington, NC, a daughter of the late Jesse Boaz Bowman and Eunice W. Bradshaw Bowman. She graduated from high school in North Carolina and was a dietician at St. Francis Hospital in Charleston for many years. Miss Musetta loved the outdoors, her cats, and most of all spending time with her family. She was a member of Kingstree Presbyterian Church.
Surviving Mrs. Floyd are: two daughters, Lara Triplett-Powell (Gerald Singleton) and Dora Lee Cabral, both of Kingstree; two sons, Leonard L. Floyd (Glenda Yvonne Williams) of Bonneau and Ronald (Layne) Noles, of Sanford, NC; and two sisters, Wanda Picard of Summerville and Vickie Ramsey of Griffin, GA. In addition to her husband and her parents, Miss Musetta was preceded in death by six brothers and six sisters.

Donald Weldon McClary, 66, of Winnsboro passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2020. Born in Columbia, he was the son of the late Leonard and Ivah Mae Epps McClary.
In addition to his parents, Donald is predeceased by a brother, Ronald Coleman McClary.
He is survived by his friends and loved ones at the Fairfield County Disabilities and Special Needs Board. Donald was a long-time resident and will be missed.
A private service will be held at Winnsboro First Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow in McClary Cemetery in Kingstree, SC at noon on Thursday, December 3, 2020.

Miss Eula Elizabeth Scott, 101, died Sunday, November 29, 2020, at her home in Kingstree.
Miss Scott was born May 7, 1919, in Kingstree, a daughter of the late Robert Cleveland and Mary Elise McCrea Scott. She was a graduate of Kingstree High School and Anderson College, where she earned a Business Degree. Throughout her career, she worked as a secretary at several different companies. Miss Eula was a member of Central Presbyterian Church, where she was very active in The Women of the Church and other church activities as long as her health allowed.
Surviving Miss Scott are: two sisters, Gloria Scott and Nadine Jones, both of Kingstree; five nieces, Peggy Browder and Rae Page, both of Kingstree, Lynne Whatley of Baton Rouge, LA, Deborah Martin of Conway, SC and Jackie Graham of Lane, SC; four nephews, David and Arthur Tisdale, both of Kingstree, Roy Scott of Louisiana, and Mark Scott of Salters, eight great nieces, seven great nephews, and several great great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Miss Eula was preceded in death by three brothers, Willie James Scott, Jack Scott and Royce Scott and two sisters, Annie Scott and Nell Tisdale.

Ronald Linton Smith, Jr., 59, died Saturday, November 28, 2020, at his residence after an illness.
Mr. Smith was born November 13, 1961, in Florence, a son of Ann Flagler and Ronnie Smith, Sr. He was a graduate of Williamsburg Academy and the University of South Carolina. He worked with Oakwood Mobile Homes until his retirement, and then with his father at Smith Plants and Vegetables. He was a member of the USC Gamecock Club.
Surviving, in addition to his parents of Kingstree are: a sister: Rhonda P. Smith of Kingstree; and a niece: McKenzie Ann Forester Loos of Houston, TX. Ron was preceded in death by two sisters; Cheryl Angelyn Smith and Sheila Ann Smith Forester and his grandparents; John and Pauline Flagler and Blanche and Fritz Smith, Sr.

Edward Houston Moore, 83, died Friday November 27, 2020 at his residence after an illness.
Mr. Moore was born May 28, 1937 in Olanta, a son of the late Rue Ingram Moore, Jr. and Wilma Lewis Moore. He was a graduate of Olanta High School and graduated from The Citadel in 1961 with a bachelor’s degree in business. Mr. Moore was a veteran of the US Army and served with the SC Highway Patrol from 1963 until his retirement in 2001. He was a member of Kingstree Presbyterian Church, a lifetime member of Mackey Lodge #77 and a Shriner. “Houston” was also an avid outdoorsman and loved to cook for his family and friends.
Surviving are 2 sons, John I. Moore (Cyndi) of Latta and Eddie A. Moore (Vivian) of Kingstree; grandchildren, Adam Moore and James Allen Moore of Kingstree, Monica (Ernesto) Ferreira and Heather Moore of Latta; great grandchildren, Jordan Ferreira, and Kaylan and Jackson Blackston; 2 brothers, Thomas H. Moore (Peggy) of Florence, and Bruce R. Moore (Jenny) of California; 2 sisters, Zylphia M. Gibbons of New Zion and Alvida M. Evans (James) of Olanta; 1 sister-in-law, Miriam Moore of Olanta; and a close family friend, Dorrian Patterson of Greeleyville.
Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Allen Moore, 2 brothers, Wilmer Lewis Moore and Rue Ingram Moore III, and a brother-in-law, Raymond Gibbons.

Maxine Farmer McKnight, 90, widow of Chandler McKnight, died Saturday, November 21, 2020, at Carlyle Senior Care of Kingstree.
Mrs. McKnight was born February 2, 1930, in Missouri, a daughter of the late Harmon and Lottie Giles Farmer. She attended Greeleyville High School. Maxine was a member of Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church and was an avid gardener.
Surviving Mrs. McKnight are: two daughters, Lottie Ann McKnight, of Greeleyville and Linda Thomas of Sumter; a son, Reuben Chandler “Chip” (Melissa) McKnight; of Greeleyville; a brother, Richard (Denise) Farmer, of Charleston; two grandchildren, Reuben Charles (Marie) Disher, of Sumter and Brad (Brandi) Holladay of Manning; and 5 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Maxine was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Farmer and a sister, Peggy Sweat.

Shirley Jean Floyd Blackburn, 58, wife of Jeffrey Keith Blackburn, died Friday, November 20, 2020, at her home in Kingstree.
Mrs. Blackburn was born September 11, 1962, in Kingstree, a daughter of the late Delynn and Louise Godwin Floyd. She was a graduate of Kingstree Senior High School. For several years “Miss Shirley” was the operator of Jack and Jill Daycare and was much beloved by many, many children and parents too. After Jack and Jill closed, Miss Shirley continued to keep children at her home. In 2016, she became the 5K assistant, substitute teacher, and operated the daycare at Williamsburg Academy, where she continued to make a difference in the lives of community children. She was a member of Sandy Bay Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she taught Sunday school.
Surviving Mrs. Blackburn in addition to her husband Jeff, are: three children, Tracy (Bill) Price of Cades, SC, Nancy (Travis) McKnight of Kingstree, and Jamie (Megan) Blackburn of Kingstree; seven grandchildren, Billy Price, Bryce Blackburn, Mary Hannah Price, McCoy Blackburn, Avie Lee McKnight, Colby Blackburn, and Catherine Reeves Blackburn; seven sisters; and one brother.

Judy McKenzie Urga, 79, died Thursday, November 19, 2020, at Carlyle Senior Care of Kingstree.
Mrs. Urga was born October 8, 1941, in Kingstree, a daughter of the late Wiley and Leona Eaddy McKenzie. She attended Kingstree High School and was a retired employee of Baxter Labs in Kingstree. Judy was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grands.
Surviving are two sons: Charles Lee of Camden and Russell Urga of Manning, a daughter: Rachele (Paul) Wilder of Kingstree, a sister: Jan Lane of Florida, 5 grandchildren, 6 greatgrandchildren and her fur baby Birdie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Joey Urga and a brother, Chris McKenzie.

Lorena Cook James, 78, wife of Douglas “Doug” Austin James, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 6, 2020, at her residence in North.
Mrs. James was born April 18, 1942 in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late William Joseph Cook and Gwendolyn Terrell Cook. She was a graduate of Greeleyville High School, Coker College with a degree in Sociology and the University of South Carolina with a degree in Graphic Design. Lorena remained a dedicated alumnus and active volunteer for Coker College until her health declined. She worked for the Veteran’s Administration for several years, then afterward worked for Newman Saylor and Gregory as a Graphic Designer. Lorena was a member of Asbury Methodist Church in Columbia, where she was very active in her circle.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 55 years, Doug, are: a daughter, Kelly James (Kyle) Draganov, of James Island; a son, Bryan Douglas James, of North; a granddaughter, Isabella Draganov, of James Island; and a brother, Joseph Terrell Cook, of Matthews, NC.

Bobby Dean Belue, Sr., 82, widower of Rounette Smith Belue, passed away Monday, October 26, 2020 at Regency Hospital of Florence.
Mr. Belue was born January 31, 1938, in Union, SC, a son of the late Fred Wilson Belue and Mary Gault Belue. He worked for Milliken Kingstree Plant for 43 years where he retired. After retirement he worked at CarQuest in Kingstree. Bobby loved the Lord and loved to pray. He was a member of Kingstree First Assembly of God Church. In his spare time, when he was not working or with his family, he enjoyed fishing, watching “Westerns” and “Wrestling” and was an avid Gamecock fan.
Surviving are: a son, Bobby Dean (Patty) Belue, Jr.; daughter, Tammy Belue (Todd) Hodge; son, Ted Levon Belue; seven grandchildren, T.K. Hodge, Cory (Deidre) Hodge, Joshua Hodge, Krislin Belue (Justin) Floyd, Kaitlin Belue, Kaylee Belue, and Alex Belue; and numerous great grandchildren; sisters, Sue Belue Smith and Karen (Jack) Rhyne; and a brother, Dwight (Cheryl) Belue. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David Belue, grandsons, Brandon Dean Belue, Justin Phillip Hodge and Hunter Belue, two brothers, Jimmy Belue and Charles Belue and a sister Joyce Belue.

Howard Milton McClam, Jr., 65, husband of Donna Plowden McClam, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2020, in Williamsburg Regional Hospital.
Mr. McClam was born October 14, 1954, in Kingstree, a son of the late Howard Milton McClam, Sr., and Daisy Barrineau McClam. He attended Williamsburg Academy and was a sixth-generation farmer. Milton was a member of Kingstree United Methodist Church and a former member of Williamsburg County Farm Bureau Board and the ASCS County Committee.
Surviving Mr. McClam, in addition to his wife Donna of the home, are: a son, Brian (Lindsay) McClam, of Kingstree; a daughter, Sarah (Brian) Jones, of Mt. Patricia Bradway “Pat” Gilman, 90, died Tuesday, September 29, 2020, at Morningside of Georgetown, assisted by Amedisys.
Mrs. Gilman was born November 8, 1929, in Cranford, NJ, the only child and daughter of the late Irving Elmer Bradway and Alice Marie Thomas Bradway. Pat was a graduate of Cranford High School and attended Virginia Intermont. Pat was administrative secretary at Williamsburg Regional Hospital and then became broker and owner of Gilman Associates Real Estate (Gilman Agency) in Kingstree until retirement. Pat was a member of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church and attended Union Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed numerous activities particularly bridge and golf, but was an artist, avid reader, and loved to travel and meet people.
Surviving are: her daughters, Gayle G. (Bob) Mone, of West Tisbury, MA; and Diane G. (Alton) Boyd, of Kingstree; grandchildren, Jon (Joanna) Mone; Laura (Matt) Rowland; Amy (Clay) St. John; and Adam Boyd; great grandchildren, Emily and Henry Rowland, Ryder and Lucy Mone; and a special friend, Judy Schartenberg. In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by a grandson, Ryan Mone. Pat’s family would like to thank the staff at Morningside of Georgetown for their loving care of Pat and also Amedisys, who helped in her final days.

Cullie Donald “Donnie” McKenzie, 75, husband of Edith “Elizabeth” Culick McKenzie, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at MUSC Health Florence Medical Center.
Mr. McKenzie was born November 27, 1944, in Williamsburg County, a son of the late Melton McKenzie and Corrie Mae Coker McKenzie. He attended Kingstree High School and was a member of Broad Swamp Pentecostal Holiness Church. Donnie worked for Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company in Kingstree for 40 Years. He loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Surviving Mr. McKenzie, in addition to his wife Elizabeth of the home, are: a daughter Vickie (Jamie) Burgess, of Kingstree; a son, Donnie Ray (Jennie) McKenzie, of Turbeville; grandchildren, Chasity (Kyle) Howard, Chloe and Addie McKenzie; great grandchildren, Keegan and Isabella Howard; and a special niece Jessica Brown. In addition to his parents, Donnie was preceded in death by brothers, Dallas McKenzie and Bobbie McKenzie, and sisters, Dorothy M. Gatlin and Cathy Jean M. Fenters.

Thelma Victoria “Vicki” Davis Nesmith, daughter of the late I.E. Davis and Thelma Stone Davis,
gained her heavenly wings on August 16, 2020.
She was born on November 9, 1944, in Salters, SC. Vicki was a graduate of Kingstree Senior High School, Winthrop College and the University of South Carolina. (But always a Clemson Tiger Fan).
Vicki was preceded in death by her siblings, Sarah Davis Brown, I.E. “Sonny” Davis, Ann Davis Britton and a nephew Wynn Brown. Surviving Vicki are a daughter, Sara Beth Harlow; grandsons, Aiden Tyler and Micah Ryan Harlow, of Greer, SC; a niece and five nephews, along with a number of great nieces and great nephews.

George Allen Hinnant, Jr., 69, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2020, in Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital in Sumter.
Allen was born July 17, 1951, in Kingstree, a son of the late George Allen Hinnant, Sr. and Hazeline Harrington Hinnant. He was a 1969 graduate of Kingstree High School and a 1973 graduate of the University of South Carolina where he also received his master’s degree in 1995. Allen was former director of DSS in Williamsburg County and retired from the state office in Columbia in 2002. He was co-owner of Leonard’s Music in Sumter until 2020. Allen attended Sumter First Church of the Nazarene. He was an avid musician having played in several bands over the years including “Lane General Store”, “El Dorado”, and “Black Bottom Biscuits” among others. Allen was involved in Sumter Little Theater, The Sumter Opera House, The Sumter Concert Band and most recently used his talents in the First Church of the Nazarene in Sumter. He loved music and used it to connect with others by teaching and playing. Allen was a kind, gentle soul that loved children, especially his nieces and nephews.
Surviving Allen are: his former wife and special friend, Jill Jiunnies, of Sumter; his sisters, Lois (Charlie) Mitchum, of Kingstree; and Melissa (Walter) Woodard, of Manning; nieces, Kim (Allen) Wilkes, of Kingstree; Amy (Mike) Turner, of Andrews; Rebecca (Cody) Tyler, of Manning; Emily (Bryan) Ridgeway, of Sumter; and Marji (Robbie) Robinson, of Summerton; a nephew, Steven Woodard, of Manning; great nieces, Hannah Wilkes, Trissy Turner, Charley Tyler, Darci Tyler, Addalyne Tyler, and Ella Ridgeway; great nephews, Brent Turner, Caleb Wilkes, RJ Robinson, Nolan Robinson, and Kase Robinson.

David Crawford Williamson, 57, husband of Annell Lee Williamson, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2020 at MUSC Health Florence Medical Center.
Mr. Williamson was born March 30, 1963, in Kingstree, a son of Joe Brice Williamson and Virginia “Jennie” Brown Williamson. He was a graduate of Williamsburg Academy and attended Williamsburg Technical College. David was an Auto-Mechanic for several years and a disabled veteran of the US Army. He was a member of Kingstree First Baptist Church.
Surviving David are: his wife Annell L. Williamson, of Florence; his father, Joe Brice Williamson, of Hebron; his mother, Virginia B. Williamson, of Kingstree; a brother, Brice (Nancy) Williamson, of Lake City; a sister, Glenda (Patrick) Lee, of Hartsville; step sons, Brandan (Audrey) Lee, of Florence and Walt Lee, of Nashville; a niece, Lauren Williamson and a nephew, Evan Williamson, both of Columbia.

Dona Faye Floyd McGee, 63, widow of John Joseph McGee, died Tuesday, September 15, 2020, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.
Mrs. McGee was born January 14, 1957, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late Deleon Floyd and Louise Godwin Floyd. She attended Kingstree High School and Sandy Bay Pentecostal Holiness Church. She loved her family and grandchildren.
Surviving Mrs. McGee are: two daughters, Mildred “Vicky” McGee, of Kingstree; and Peggy (Christopher) Elliott, of Andrews; a son, Joey McGee, of Kingstree; 7 grandchildren; and 6 sisters. In addition to her parents and husband, Dona was preceded in death by a sister, Lorraine McKnight and a brother Lynwood “Woody” Floyd.

Julia “Judy” Puckett Edwards, 95, wife of Jack Merritt Edwards, died Sunday, September 6, 2020, at Williamsburg Regional Hospital in Kingstree.
Mrs. Edwards was born October 13, 1924, in Troy, SC, a daughter of the late Ira Allen Puckett and Effie Dale Harling Puckett. Judy was the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard Randolph Puckett, of Greenwood and Mr. and Mrs. William David Harling, of Troy. She attended school in Troy and Greenwood and graduated from Erskine College and attended the University of North Carolina for graduate studies. Judy taught 3rd grade at Kingstree Public Schools and Williamsburg Academy. She was a member of Williamsburg Presbyterian Church and taught Sunday school for 20 years. She was a Garden Club member and attended DAR.
Surviving are: her husband, Jack; sons Al (Lill) Edwards; and Bill Edwards; two grandsons, Jim (Laura) Edwards; and Michael (Christina) Edwards; and three great grandchildren, Ryan, Jack, and Merritt.
